Spring Softball 2026

WEST TORRANCE LITTLE LEAGUE SPRING SOFTBALL

DATES OF ACTIVITIES: January - June 2026 (exact dates differ per Division. Please check details on Division pages)

LOCATION: Games take place at West Torrance Little League fields at Entradero Park in West Torrance, as well as potential games versus other area Little League & USA Softball teams at their respective fields. Practices will take place at the same WTLL Fields at Entradero Park, or surrounding area school fields (as needed)

AGES: Girls & Boys, Ages 5-8 are welcome, regardless of skill level.

Softball Players League Age is based on how old the player will be during the calendar year (this is different than Little League Baseball). Click here to find out your child's Little League Softball Age for 2026 Spring.

Due to limited available Little League Softball options in our area, there are no current Boundary Restrictions for Softball.

A player may only be registered for either WTLL Softball OR WTLL Baseball Spring 2025 season. Should a player be registered for both, we will ask families to pick either sport before registration is deemed final.

Registration fees include Team Jersey & Visor, one weekly field practice (ALL DIVISIONS). For 8U Softball, one weekly batting practice may also be scheduled.

Players need to have their own softball glove, batting helmet, softball bat (Printed with BPF of 1.20), softball pants & cleats. Boys must also wear a protective cup.

Within all divisions, WTLL Board of Directors, managers & volunteers are focused on development of every player, regardless of experience or skill. We are an instructional league first and foremost.

REGISTRATION DATES

To ensure every registered player receives proper development, we limit each division/team roster to a certain number of registrations. This number is 100% based on the total number of available Volunteer Managers. An estimated registration cap is currently in place for all divisions based on historical player registration and volunteer data. So, please volunteer if you are interested in managing a team. The more volunteers we get, the more roster spots become available.

Standard Registration period officially closes on November 30th, 2024; however, divisions might reach capacity earlier than this date. Please make sure to register early & tell all your friends and family to do so too.

Late Registration will open in December accepting registrations/wait list applicants until Friday, December 31st, 2024 for 8U division; and until January 15th, 2025 for 6U division. Registrations after November 30th, 2024 will have a 20% late fee applied for all individual player registrations between December 1st, 2025 & close of Late Registration period.

Starting January 1st, 2026 – if our 8U division is not already at the preset Player Capacity beforehand, our 2026 Spring Wait List will open up. Starting January 17th, 2026 - 6U division Spring Wait Lists will open. Wait Listed Players will be called to join a team in order of registration date - ONLY if there is a need on a team in their respective age division.

SNACK BAR REQUIREMENTS

For every registered player, families are required to work two (2) SNACK BAR SHIFTS throughout the entire Spring season, including end of year divisional tournaments. We are always looking for great volunteers, and as a bonus for volunteering in key roles - WTLL Board Members & approved Team Managers are exempt from this requirement, due to how much time they already volunteer to to the league. Families may choose to buyout their two shifts (per player registered) for $225 total; otherwise, families are required to provide one (1) check (per player registered) in the amount of $300, as a deposit to their two (2) shifts. After the season, these checks will be destroyed, once it is confirmed families worked BOTH of their required shifts per player registered. If families only work one shift, then the deposit will be cashed by WTLL.

At WTLL, we encourage players of all skill levels & backgrounds to play ball. We are entirely a volunteer organization, but do require player registration fees to help maintain fields, uniform & equipment expenses, and miscellaneous league expenditures (utility bills). Every 8U Softball, Baseball - Farm, Minor & Major Player must attend Player Assessments, or will not be eligible to be placed on a Roster.

Close of Late Registration (Baseball: TBall & Rookie; Softball: 6U): January 15th, 2026
Divisional Player Drafts/Team Rosters Assigned: Late January (specific dates TBD - players are not to attend)
Practices May Begin: Early February (after Rosters are finalized, and pending individual Team Manager's decision)
OPENING DAY: Saturday, Feb 21st 2026 (weather permitting)
END OF WTLL SEASON: Mid-May, Closing Day anticipated Saturday, May 16th (weather permitting)
