Tee Ball - Little League Baseball

Season Dates: February - May

Standard Tee Ball gameplay. Games on Saturdays ONLY. Games are 2-3 innings (or 1 hour max), all kids play the field and every kid bats each inning. No outs.

Focus is on enjoying playing baseball, and getting kids comfortable with basic understanding of game rules & play.

We strive to keep TBall teams to only 5-6 kids total. Keeping roster sizes smaller in TBall allows more individual attention during practices, but also keeps the players very engaged during games. However, in order to do this, we need as many Volunteer Managers as possible. Please volunteer during your registration process. Managing a team is relatively easy, and is a great way to give back to the community, while experiencing the joys of your child improving in the game alongside their teammates.

Rookie - Coach/Machine Pitch - Little League Baseball

Season Dates: February - May

Games on Saturdays ONLY. Games are 2-3 innings, all kids play the field and every kid bats each inning. Outs are played in Rookie division. After 3 outs, bases are cleared & batting team continues until all players bat. Coaches pitch from a knee about 35' away from the batter, goal is to mimic a pitch coming from a kid.

Focus is on enjoying playing baseball, getting kids comfortable with hitting a moving ball, teaching the basics of playing defense & further understanding of game rules & play.

We strive to keep Rookie teams to only 7-9 kids total. Keeping roster sizes smaller in Rookie and TBall divisions allow more individual attention during practices, but also keeps the players very engaged during games. However, in order to do this, we need as many Volunteer Managers as possible. Please volunteer during your registration process. Managing a team is relatively easy, and is a great way to give back to the community, while experiencing the joys of your child improving in the game alongside their teammates. In addition, practice schedules are based on Manager availabilities and preference for day & time.

Farm - Kid Pitch - Little League Baseball

Competitive Division w/End of Season Round Robin + Elimination Tournament

Season Dates: January - June (Select league age 8 year olds may be invited to play Farm All Stars, which plays games in June)

Farm is the first division Players begin to pitch in games. Two games per week are played with most teams playing on Saturdays and one weeknight evening (Tues, Wed or Thurs). Should there be an odd number of teams in a division - teams will have weeks where they play two midweek games and no games on that Saturday.

Teams focus on teaching kids how to pitch & hit from a kid pitched ball. Pitchers pitch from 40', versus the farther 46' of older divisions. The early portion of the season, Farm does not play with walks. Should a pitcher throw 4 balls, the coach for the batting team comes to the mound to pitch from one knee to finish the at bat. Should the batter have 1 strike on them at the time of receiving the 4th ball, then batter has 1 strike when their coach begins to pitch to them. There is the potential for coach pitch strikeouts.

About halfway through the regular season, games shift to full baseball - with walks (no more coach pitch).

*WTLL Minor Champion continues playing into early June, via Little League District 27's Tournament of Champions - traditionally held early June. Each District 27 League's Minor Champion plays in a single elimination tournament to crown the Champion of League Champions.

For those players elected to All Stars (12 & under (12U), 11U and 10U), All Star season traditionally runs June & July. Players selected to All Stars MUST be available for majority of practices & ALL games for the entire duration of their designated WTLL team's participation in the Little League all star tournaments.

50/70 - Little League Baseball

WTLL's 50/70 program is a competitive division, with teams competing against other area Little League's 50/70 teams. Games are played on a larger field with 70ft base paths & 50 foot pitching distance, and players are allowed to lead off when on base. 50/70 programs are typically for players wanting to continue to play competitive baseball for one more season.

We partnered with West High's baseball program to provide more experienced coaching for our 2024 Spring 5070 team. We are currently planning to continue this partnership in 2025, for practices, and potentially for games.

Our 50/70 team/division is completely dependent on community interest, as well as a volunteer willing to manage the team for the season. Registration capacity for our 5070 program is based on historical interest.

If there is significant interest and we need to form more than one 5070 team, we will need Volunteers to manage 5070 teams during games. Managerial responsibilities would be limited to managing games. Typically, 50/70 teams play one game per week, depending on opponent & field availability.

We received great feedback from our revamped 5070 program last Spring, should there be a need to fill roster(s) to an appropriate size, WTLL may invite skilled 12- &/or 11-year old players to join the program.

Open Registration is ONLY open to Little League aged 13-year olds. 12- & 11-year olds will only be allowed to play the 5070 division by Invitation Only, based on perceived skill of players. 12- & 11-year old players must be registered for Majors to be considered for 5070, and will need to still prioritize their Major team commitment over 5070. 5070 is an additional registration cost for 12- & 11- year old players. League age 10 year olds are not allowed to play 50/70, due to Little League insurance regulations.
